HALO / OCT 2026

Halo · Company overview

Better capture. Better work at every stage.

Halo is changing how vehicle images are captured and standardised, so every inspection, listing and handover starts with better information.

01 · Why we built Halo

8.5 years in AI. One lesson behind Halo.

Stephen Southin spent 8.5 years as the founder and product architect helping build PAVE.ai, an early mobile AI vehicle inspection platform, and learning what it takes to bring AI into everyday vehicle operations.

Working with some of the world’s largest fleet management companies and fleets revealed the same bottleneck: capture. Even the best inspection tools depend on the angles, detail and consistency of the images they receive.

Halo is the next step in that journey: standardise capture at the source, so every person and tool downstream has better information to work with.

02 · The team we’re building

Building our team through Canada’s AI ecosystem.

We’re building a leading team of ML engineers and product architects, combining vehicle-workflow experience with applied AI research.

Halo is an active member of Vector Institute’s FastLane program. Vector advances AI research and helps companies turn it into products. We participated in Machine Learning Associates Cohort 10, which led to our first two full-time ML engineers.

We also participate in Amii’s Level Up program. Amii, the Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute, is one of Canada’s three national AI institutes. Level Up provides ML scientist coaching and technical guidance to help startups scale their technology.

03 · Our approach

Remove the barriers of skill, space and time.

Standardise how the evidence is collected, and the people and tools using it have a more consistent starting point.

Halo’s Vehicle Spatial Intelligence tracks the phone’s position around the vehicle and guides each shot.

01

Skill

Vehicle-anchored targets and automatic checks guide staff. Halo handles the finished framing.

02

Space

Capture sections close to the vehicle, with about five feet of clearance around it. Halo creates the whole-car listing views.

03

Time

About 90 seconds for exterior capture. Processing, quality checks and delivery follow.

04 · Our starting market

Solve the photo job dealers already pay for.

Fifteen capture points supply eight finished exterior listing views. A monthly rooftop subscription brings photography in-house.

Appraisal, stock-in and post-recon updates make capture a recurring part of the dealership’s work. Original close-ups remain available for condition review.

Already integrated with vAuto for appraisals, and Boost and HomeNet for syndication.

05 · Halo Twin · Planned Q1 2027

Turn separate photos into a reusable vehicle record.

Today, the VIN connects source captures, finished views and delivery status. Halo Twin builds on that foundation.

Halo Twin will connect original images to the vehicle and supported 3D views. TwinDocs adds panel notes, shared review and replies.

A generated twin could configure Halo Compass to guide the next user through tire tread, the full interior, under the hood and cargo areas, adding detail to the same record.

Planned VIN-based versioning will add each repeat capture as a new version of the same twin, so teams can compare condition over time and track reconditioning progress.

06 · The wider opportunity

One capture foundation across the vehicle’s life.

Merchandising is our entry point. The larger opportunity is better visual information for the people and software working on the same vehicle. These are markets we intend to develop, beyond the initial dealer merchandising release.

01

Manufacturers and logistics

Document vehicle condition at delivery and transport handovers.

02

Retail and wholesale

Support appraisal, inspection, auction and listing workflows.

03

Fleet, rental and leasing

Review handovers, use and returns against dated evidence.

04

Service, repair and insurance

Keep inspection photos, repair records and claim discussions tied to the vehicle.

05

Remarketing and end of life

Share a TwinDoc with the original driver or the fleet’s own remarketing network to support direct resale. Carry the vehicle history into recovery and recycling decisions.

07 · Roadmap

Passenger vehicles now. Commercial next.

Compass capture is trained across all passenger vehicle types.

01

Now

Dealer merchandising and TwinDocs development.

02

Q1 2027

Planned Halo Twin release. Scope depends on product testing and partner feedback.

03

With a design partner

Collect commercial vehicle training data, starting with agreed classes such as last-mile delivery vans.

04

After training and testing

Release support for each validated commercial vehicle class. Timing is separate from the Twin launch.
